The kafir an Nawawi claimed Allah can not move and that he is not in heaven and other awful things.
He said in his explanation of hadith al-nuzul (the hadith about that Allah descends):
“This is a hadith of ahadith al-sifat, and there are two opinions (lit. madhhab) known among the scholars:
The first: The salaf’s opinion (this is a lie about the salaf) and some mutakallimin (philosophers) is that they believe that this is truth, in a way that suits Allah ta’ala, but that the literal meaning as understood by people (al-nuzul) is not meant by it. And we should not talk about the interpretation (taw’il) and it is believed that Allah ta’ala is exalted and there is no comparison with the attributes of his creation and he is exalted from shifting from his place or movements and all the other characteristics of the creatures.
The second: The opinion of most mutakallimin and some groups of the salaf: What is
and Al-Awzaa’ie (this is a big lie too) that the hadith is interpreted in a way that suits Allah ta’ala depending on the context (of the hadith), and therefore they have been interpreting this hadith in two ways.
The first: the interpretation of Malik bin Anas (this is a lie) and others: that it means that his mercy, command and his angels descend, just as it is said: the sultan has done this or that when his servants do that because its his command.
And the second interpretation is that it means that Allah quickly answers the supplications of his servants and is loving towards them. (Explanation of Sahih Muslim 6/36)
The interpretation from al-Nawawi concerning al-Nuzul is not a harmless difference of interpretation. If the descent of Allah is denied or the authentic text is rejected in favor of an interpretation that negates the attribute itself, then such a doctrine is kufr, because it amounts to rejecting what has been authentically established from the Messenger of Allah ï·º concerning the attributes of Allah.
What makes the matter even more serious is the attempt to attribute such an approach to the Salaf. The Salaf did not deny Allah’s descent, nor did they explain it away as a mere metaphor. They affirmed what was transmitted in the Sunnah while refusing to liken Allah to His creation and without asking how His descent occurs.
Therefore, whoever adopts the doctrine of denying an established attribute of Allah has fallen into kufr, even if it is a so-called Imam like an Nawawi. The statements of the Salaf concerning al-Nuzul, however, leave no justification for claiming that the Salaf rejected or negated Allah’s descent.
